About Heritage Hills
The history and vision of “York’s Resort”
Heritage Hills Golf Course & Resort opened in 1989 as a regional retreat for guests to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Today, the same holds true. With a variety of activities, Heritage Hills has become known for its "park and play" atmosphere — attracting guests from throughout the region for personal, business, social and private affairs.
In The Beginning
A century old oak tree that stood on the south end of the Resort's grounds was the inspiration for the courses' architect, Russell Roberts. Standing more than one-hundred feet high, the tree is the official emblem for the course and logo for the resort.
The future
All work and planning within Heritage Hills is focused singly on capturing and holding the premier position of being unquestionably "York's Resort". A major expansion is currently underway to augment the resort with more services and entertainment offerings.
In Spring 2008, a renovation of Knickers Pub will be complete, which includes an expansion of the outdoor patio, a complete décor remodel, improved musical staging areas and enhancements to the dining and buffet areas.
In Winter 2008, a major renovation of hotel rooms was started which will include new furnishings and room amenities, new beds, televisions and decor.
The building of an underground parking garage and — very excitingly — the creation of a state-of-the art indoor water park are in the planning stages and are pending approval by township officials.
In the more distant future, the resort has plans to merge its course with nearby Springwood Golf Course. This would be achieved with a bridge connecting Heritage Hills and Springwood Golf Courses across Camp Betty Washington Road to create a single 18-hole course.
